Making the transition to higher education is a major life event. Although exciting, it requires hard work and planning for a successful outcome. Before you start, it is a good idea to set up a system for organizing your information. Use a ring binder notebook to hold your notes and insert pages with pockets to accommodate brochures and other printed material that you will be gathering. Dividers will help you organize the information from the various schools that you choose to contact. Prepare a list of questions for these institutions and keep it in the front of the notebook. Some of these questions might include:

Questions for the Admissions Office

1.   What is the name of the office that provides services to students with disabilities?

2.   What is the telephone number?

3.   Can you give me the name of a specific contact person?
