Training Offered:  Nineteen diploma programs in accounting, air conditioning technology, applied manufacturing technology, automobile collision repair, automobile technology, carpentry, computer programming, cosmetology, drafting, electrical technology, electronics technology, industrial maintenance technology, information and office technology, machine tool technology, medical assisting, microcomputer specialist, practical nursing, radiologic technology, and welding technology. Most classes are offered days and evenings. Training programs range from one to two years.

 

A number of short-term (one-day seminars to three-month training programs) continuing education courses are offered including furniture making, small engine repair, basic welding, introduction to computers, DOS, Lotus 1-2-3, dBase 111+, WordPerfect 5.0, Printshop, Advanced Lotus, WordPerfect 5.1, autoCAD, sign language, basic EMT, patient care assisting, and retail floral designing. Continuing education classes are offered both day and evening.

 

All 19 diploma programs (except practical nursing) can be extended by 25 credit hours of instruction at Gordon College to earn an Associate of Applied Science Degree.

 

Entrance Requirements:  High school diploma or GED preferred. GED and adult education classes are offered, however. A joint enrollment program with area high schools is available.
